Hey, Hi! I’m Jess - The Founder and Owner of Face Status (formally the The Gemini Lash Bar)
& a Multi-Certified Lash, Brow Artist.

Welcome to my world of beauty!
My beauty journey started in 2021 as a part-time, 5-9 job alongside working as a full time primary school teacher. Over the years, my experience and clientele grew and so did my passion for the industry. At the beginning of 2024, I decided to seize the opportunity, leave my teaching career and went all in with the lash and brow business! A decision I know will change my life forever in the best way possible.

Rewind to 2021, The Gemini Lash Bar was created in a Tullamarine Home-Based Studio and then later moved to Sunbury, rebranding to Face Status. It was built from passion and tireless dedication to learn new skills in the brow and lash world. With constant up-skilling, incredibly high standards, quality and comfortability being my top priorities, I strive to make each one of my clients feel their very best when they walk out of their appointment.

I play footy (afl). I’m terrible at it but it’s a vibe ;)

I’m one of four and the eldest of my 3 siblings

I have a bachelor of teaching degree and taught years prep - year 3 from 2016 - 2024. I even taught overseas in Malaysia

I’ve been to 18 international countries

I’m terrified of spiders and turkeys. Spiders? Self explanatory. Turkeys? Little Jess was chased by one at a kids farm

I have always had a passion for art. I learnt to draw at a young age. In my early 20s I started my first little biz selling drawings. I then moved to drawing on chopping boards and had people buy them as wedding gifts which was super special

I first got lash extensions in 2015 with a beautiful lady named Ash. 6 years later I completed my lash training with her. Why? Because her lash sets were amazing, I trusted her and she was someone I saw as inspiration. Best decision ever!

I am obsessed with personal development. Being surrounded by likeminded, empowering women is something I can’t imagine my life without and that is why I will always chase the next retreat or group container. I value mentorship and personal growth and love talking to my clients about everything I have learnt through these opportunities.
